This project required high fabrication accuracy due to the critical function of expansion joints in industrial piping systems. The TUMEJ units are designed to absorb thermal expansion, mechanical vibration, pipeline movement, and operational stresses while maintaining the integrity and reliability of the piping network in refinery operations.
PT SK Metalindo was responsible for the complete manufacturing process, including material preparation, cutting, machining, fit-up, welding, assembly, dimensional inspection, and final quality verification. Every fabrication stage was carried out by qualified personnel using certified welding procedures and calibrated production equipment to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable industry standards.
Special attention was given to the fabrication and assembly of the bellows, flanges, guide components, and supporting structures to ensure precise alignment, pressure resistance, and operational reliability. Strict Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures were implemented throughout the production process, including material traceability, dimensional inspections, welding inspections, and final visual examinations to guarantee that every expansion joint met the client’s technical and performance requirements.
Upon completion of fabrication, each TUMEJ assembly underwent comprehensive final inspection before being prepared for delivery. Proper preservation and packing methods were applied to protect the equipment from damage during transportation to the refinery site in Sungai Pakning, Dumai, Riau, ensuring that all products arrived in excellent condition and ready for installation.
